Ability Level

This tour is for Intermediate backcountry skiers and riders. Participants should have resort skiing experience (be comfortable skiing variable conditions on "black diamonds" in the Northeast) as well as some previous backcountry experience. You should be able to make controlled turns on ungroomed backcountry trails and feel comfortable being outside in the mountains for 6 hours with the physical ability to skin uphill with a pack for 2-3 miles and enough energy left over for downhill travel.

Avalanche Safety

Avalanche safety equipment is NOT required as this tour will not be traveling in avalanche terrain
